Macrogen Europe started out as a branch office of South Korea-based Macrogen Inc: a company that has been innovating genomics since 1997. To this day we maintain a close collaboration with their global network of sequencing experts – to make sure we get the most comprehensive data from every sample.
Macrogen Europe was founded in 2008 and provides fast and reliable Sanger sequencing, next generation sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics services to scientists in Europe and Africa.

Since its foundation, Macrogen Europe’s headquarters have been located on the grounds of the Amsterdam Medical Center in the Netherlands, where – in 2021 – it moved to a new, state-of-the-art laboratory. It also has sequencing facilities in Maastricht (NL), Milan (IT), Roissy-en-France (FR), and local representatives across the region.
