In this clip, broadcast on Dutch television on 12 June 2021, our colleagues William, Thananya and Seungeun talk about the what, why and how of DNA sequencing.
DNA sequencing plays an increasingly important role in many people’s lives. It made news headlines worldwide when scientists used it to study the genome of Sars-CoV-2 in early 2020, but it has been making an impact on the way we live for many years – through disease diagnoses, development of new drugs and learning more about the species in the world around us.
Earlier this year, a film crew from the TV program Doe Maar Duurzaam visited Macrogen Europe’s brand new labs near the Amsterdam Medical Center in the Netherlands and spoke to our team about what sequencing is – and about the role it plays in life science today.
